Where did we go?

We covered 36,478 km over 10 months in what we can only describe as an uplifting experience through our extraordinary country, creating countless special memories along the way.
Our book contains a day-by-day journal detailing so many wonderful sights and experiences we enjoyed. Along the way, we had a few challenges that we overcame - they're in there too.

Below are maps for each leg of our journey, showing where we travelled.
1. We left Perth and headed north along the coast, detouring to the majestic Karijini gorges before returning to the coast at Port Hedland, then up to Broome and across to Kununurra. We flew from Kununurra to the Bungle Bungles, a sight not to be missed.

3. From Camooweal, we headed east to Ayre in Queensland. The furthest north we went in Queensland was Cape Tribulation.

5. From Herberton, we zig-zagged south to Charleville, then across to the coast and over the Border to Byron Bay and Ballina.

8. After crossing into Victoria at Mallacoota, we drove via Lakes Entrance, Moe and Melbourne to Geelong to board the Spirit of Tasmania.

10. From Geelong, we drove to peaceful Cobram, where we relaxed for a while and thoroughly enjoyed day trips to Echuca, Shepparton and Yarrowonga.

11. From Cobram, we headed north to Lightning Ridge before returning to Albury, visiting Canberra and the Snowy Mountains on the way.

14. We crossed the border into Western Australia at Eucla, heading for Dunsborough on the coast, then drove home to Perth.

2. Next, we headed east and up to Darwin, then down to Threeways Roadhouse and crossed the border into Queensland just before Camooweal.

4. We spent time in Herberton, sightseeing the many beautiful waterfalls, tropical forests, lakes, and Crystal Caves.

6. From there, we drove along the coast of New South Wales, stopping at some pretty spectacular places.

7. We camped at Gerroa and enjoyed a very scenic drive through the Budderoo National Park.

9. We arrived in Devonport and spent six magical weeks in Tasmania, travelling clockwise. It seemed like around every corner, there was another WOW moment.

12. From Albury, we headed south to Lilydale and Melbourne before heading north-west as far as The Spanner Man. We returned to Geelong, followed the amazing Great Ocean Road, and crossed the Border into South Australia at Mount Gambier.

13. We followed the rugged South Australian coastline from Mount Gambier to Border Village, with a detour to Coober Pedy.
